- Martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. Karate comes from Japan and Kung Fu from China. Taekwondo is native to Korea. In terms of techniques, Taekwondo emphasizes strikes, kick specifically, more than other martial arts, making it ideal from improving ones’s balance, flexibility and endurance. Taekwondo is known as one of the most systematic and dynamic martial arts and one of the best ways to reach students in building quality life skills.
- There are three different systems in Taekwondo.WT - Olympic Style, ITF - Military Style, ATA - American Taekwondo Assoc. Belt ranks across different systems/martial arts are non-transferable. Such honoring of belt rank that are made shall be entirely within the discretion of the Master Instructor. The Black Belt you earn with us will be recognized globally, not just domestically.
- The goal is that the student through the practice of martial arts gains valuable life skills for daily life. When practiced with consistency, persistence and perseverance, one may earn the rank of Black Belt. Contrary to often popular belief, Black Belt signifies a mastery in the basics of Taekwondo, and so then the true journey of mastery continues. It is the goal of our instructors to support, guide and empower every student who walks through our doors, and provide them with the highest quality martial arts instruction.
- You are Never too old to learn something new! We believe in a Student for Life Mentality, that's what keeps us sharp! Our teachers and staff will be considerate of making adjustments on certain exercises and drills but you will see improvements of balance, flexibility and coordination in no time at all. We love it when even Grandma and Grandpa join in, it's a true inspiration. There's absolutely no excuses for the kids not to give it their all!


Belting Up and Stripes

- Your teacher is always watching to see how hard you are working every class. When they feel that you know your kicks, blocks, basic Korean terminology and forms, they will check and you will earn a stripe! Because every person is unique you may earn a stripe at different times than your classmates.
- When you earn all 3 of your stripes, this means you are eligible for Promotion Test. Belt Promotion Testing take place typically on the second or third Friday of the month. Earning next rank keeps you motivated in setting bigger goals on your journey to Black Belt.
- We host Saturday morning STRIPE WORKSHOPS to get extra help on curriculum such as Breaking Techniques, Poomsae and Terminology.
- Earning permission to attend the Dragons Class is given by the instructor. A number of factors are considered including attention span, technical ability and capability to work well in a larger class format. When the time is right, your instructor will advise you on when moving up is appropriate.
